I started Crossfit at the beginning of December. My brother had mentioned that he had heard of the workout regiment and that it looked very challenging but the rewards were far superior to that of workouts I had tried before (weights, cardio, etc). At the time I was easily in the worst shape of my life. I was at least 30-40lbs overweight, a smoker, and my energy level was very low. I start many of my days around 4:30-5:00 a.m. and I found myself out of gas (mentally and physically) by late morning or early afternoon everyday. With new years around the corner I decided to get a head start on my standard resolution of getting back in shape. I found out Mary was a short distance from my home so I gave her a call and started one-on-one sessions to learn the movements and start the program.
Simply put, the results have exceeded all expectations! I will begin by saying that Crossfit is like nothing else out there. Most of my previous efforts to get back in shape fell short for one of three reasons; I would get bored of the same old routine, I would reach a plateau in my gains and lose motivation, or injury (either self induced or from a trainer who did not know the difference between pushing me and going beyond my limitations). I have experienced none of these since beginning Crossfit. The workouts are different everyday and never get boring. In fact, I would say I am addicted! I see improvement in my level of performance and physical appearance weekly, and Mary not only pushes you to your limits but educates you on proper form to insure any risk of injury is minimal.
I have now lost 5% body fat, my energy level is through the roof, and I am more productive at work than ever. Other benefits I have experienced are great nights sleep, improved flexibility, better diet, improved self esteem, and the list goes on. If I can do this program anyone can. I would recommend Crossfit to anyone and will definitely be a Crossfitter for life.
