Before I started CrossFit I was totally out of shape, and realizing at the age of 53 I needed to do something about my health. My back was always keeping me down, and I was not able to get up off the couch without feeling agonizing pain in my legs. I ate Tums like candy, due to heartburn, and always had a bottle on my nightstand.
With age usually comes weight gain, but with the encouragement of my daughters Amy and Jami they finally talked me into trying a free workout at CrossFit Rockwall. I got through the workout but not without feeling exhausted and sore for the next 3 days, but I stuck with it and joined with my husband Tom in July 2010. This is one of the best life choices I have made. I have lost about 10 pounds and 2 inches. I can run again, do strict push-ups, and so much more. And with every workout I feel stronger. I don’t have any more pain in my legs, and I don’t have any problems with my back. I have taken the Tums off my nightstand and can sleep through the night.
Eating healthy and sticking to CrossFit has made me realize you are never too old to get in shape. I love the way I feel and will continue to stay fit and healthy by doing the CrossFit workouts and eating healthy.
