Through life, I've struggled to find that workout that seemed to be my "perfect fit." I've never considered myself an athlete, due mostly to my lack of grace and coordination (ha. ha. ha.) I've tried and tried to force myself to be a cardio queen, without much luck. It always felt weird to be the woman who wanted to lift weights instead of read magazines and check their make-up on the elliptical. I've always enjoyed lifting but had a serious lack of guidance. So, I tried to mix things up after my son was born and became a Certified Personal Trainer. I loved helping others achieve their fitness goals but still seemed to struggle with my own.
After moving to a new state, I found myself, a stay-at-home mom with a young son and a new baby girl, deep in a fitness rut. I needed something that would shake me and wake me up...CrossFit did just that!
Once my little one turned 1 and my schedule eased up a bit, I joined (in my opinion) the best gym in Rockwall. From day one I have been challenged, whether it was competing against myself or someone else. I’ve realized that I thrive on competition, something I really don’t get in any other facet of my life.
CFR has pushed me harder and farther than I thought possible. In a little over 9 months, I have achieved things I never thought I could. I have climbed a rope and done a pull-up...both things that have haunted me since elementary school gym class. I’ve managed to deadlift and back squat more weight than I ever thought I could. I’ve even started hating running a little tiny bit less...
CFR has made me healthier and happier, but best of all it has opened my eyes to a part of me that I never really thought existed. My inner athlete.
