A few years ago I was unhappy with myself and struggling with pretty bad anxiety. I was overweight despite my best efforts at exercise and diet. I went to the Gym regularly but I would do a machine or two and leave. I simply was not a self starter at the gym and I felt like I was always on a diet. I saw myself slowly adding pounds to the scale every year and I felt hopeless. I had a family member who I noticed had gotten in great shape and kept talking about CrossFit. I decided to look it up and sure enough, there was CrossFit Rockwall.
After just a few weeks I started noticing great changes in myself. I began to see physical results quickly which made me want to keep coming back. For the first time I became one of those people who enjoyed working out. The best result was that my anxiety was nearly gone.
The other great thing that came out of joining CrossFit is that I was able to continue it during my entire pregnancy. I had always wanted kids but before CrossFit I had kind of always dreaded getting pregnant. I always assumed I'd gain a ton of weight and never be able to lose it. After CrossFit, though, I had faith in myself that I could have an active and healthy pregnancy. I worked out 3-4 times a week and I also continued to eat paleo most of the time during my pregnancy. The coaches were great at helping me scale workouts as I got further along and all the other athletes were always cheering me on! It all paid off and the real reward was enjoying my new baby with no worries about what my body looked like. I also was able to fit into all of my old clothes just a couple of weeks after having giving birth.
I have so much to thank CrossFit Rockwall for. They taught me how to have control over food and the right way to eat. They also have empowered me to feel physically strong. All of this has turned into me feeling mentally strong and the best I can be!
