The CrossFit program is designed to be scaled. This makes it perfect for any committed individual, regardless of their current fitness level or experience. Thousands of athletes worldwide follow the workouts posted daily on the CrossFit HQ site and other CrossFit affiliate sites. They did not all begin as athletes. Many of them began their fitness journey with CrossFit, having had no prior experience with working out.
To scale our workouts, we simply decrease the weight, intensity, repetitions or rounds. Lifting 45 lbs may be too much for you; so try 25 lbs or an unweighted PVC pipe. If you can't run, then walk or use the Concept 2 rower. Instead of 20 push-ups, do 10, or two sets of 5. You get the idea! Scaling our workouts is easy, yet still effective.
